Fireworks optimization controls are conveniently located on panels in the workspace:

The Optimize panel contains the key controls for optimizing images in Fireworks. |

The Color Table panel displays the colors in the current color palette. |

The Preview window shows you a preview of how the exported graphic will look. |
Note: In Fireworks, all the optimization controls are in the workspace. However, you can still optimize the image with the Export Preview dialog box by choosing File > Export Preview. For more information on the Export Preview, see Optimizing and previewing during export.
You can choose from common optimization settings to quickly set a file format and apply several format-specific settings. You can adjust preset settings.
If you need more precise optimization control than the presets offer, you can create custom optimization settings using the Optimize panel.
To choose a preset optimization:
Choose it from the Optimize panel Settings pop-up menu.
To specify optimization settings for an image:
